A Wick-ed Sweet Way to Make a House Feel Homey

26 Aug

Each year when fall approaches – wait, who am I kidding? – during every season of the year, I light enough candles in our house to make the fire department nervous. From their soft glow to the variety of scents candles can so perfectly imitate, they are one of the top ways to make a house feel like a home.

But it’s those fall scents that truly have the power to transform my mood. One deep inhale of a cinnamon spice candle, and I’m transported to a hundred different family gatherings, surrounded by love and a gluttonous amount of pecan pie. It brings a smile to my face, and no matter what challenges I face, they all fade in the warm aroma of a fall-scented candle.

Needless to say, I’ve searched high and low for the best candles that don’t break the bank. Hands-down, Kirkland’s candles have the richest, most long-lasting aromas. And at less than $8 a piece, they’re a steal. I always have one in my entryway, and I often give them as gifts. It just so happens that Kirkland’s Fragrance of the Week, Cinnamon Coffee Cake, is on sale for $5.98. Do yourself a favor, and pick one up this weekend!

Now, if you’re wanting to splurge a little, you must try the Nest Fragrance Holiday candle. At around $30 a piece, they are pricier than Kirkland’s candles, but they will last for months. And as much as I burn candles, that is quite an accomplishment!

Now, I know I’m not the only candle-lover out there. What candle or candle scent do you absolutely adore?

I’m pretty crazy about Tyler Candle Co. candles. They have some interesting, non-traditional scents, and they’re strong enough to fill the whole house, which I love. They’re pricey, though, so they’re definitely a splurge.

I’ll have to give those a try! Do you have a favorite scent? Don’t they have a men’s cologne one?

my favorite is biscotti fragrance by wood wick candles. I just love it. I buy them at cracker barrel country store. The smell of fresh rain would sure be nice. I bet I could find a candle that has the aroma of a spring rain shower.
